I have very dark, big brown eyes. What are the best eye shadow & eye liner colors?

Big eyes are beautiful! However, if you want to make them look smaller, darker colors make your features smaller; consequently, black eyeliner would make your eyes appear smaller.





Apply black or dark coloured kohl pencil to the inside rim of your lower eyelids. Keep the eyelids nude or use a natural colour eyeshadow (such as beige or subtle taupe) on the top eyelids only. Do not curl your eyelashes. Apply mascara to your top eyelashes only.

It’s actually the colour and highlights of your hair rather than the colour of your eyes that will guide you through the colour range to find your perfect shades. A colour may appear softer or brighter, depending on how light or dark your complexion is. -Almond eyes-


This shape is what all eye shapes are corrected to be, and does not need any altering, this eye shape can use any technique.





-Protruding eyes-


I know that sounds horrible but its not that bad, some people’s eyes are a tiny bit forward from the skin below them. Dark matte colors are better to use for this eye shape, no sparkles or shimmers, and the best technique to use is ';Smokey'; or ';Yasmine'; eye.





-Down Turned eyes-


Slightly turned down at the outer sides and slightly wider apart. Mascara and fake lashes are useful with this eye shape, particularly make the outer lashes larger than the rest. Dark colours are best.





-Small eyes-


Look smaller than usual, so use highlighting colors, not dark because lighter colors will bring them out. Use a simple technique because there isn’t much room for extravagance. Curl lashes large and bring color out a little. Tidy brows to make more room for color.





-Hooded eyes-


Loss of elasticity in eyes, usually on aged skins, this eye shape needs matte colors, always blended well and medium to dark colors, ';Smokey'; or ';Yasmine'; eye is best for this eye shape.





-Round eyes-


Round and full in appearance, this eye needs to be brought out at the sides a little, extending the eye liner beyond the natural line of the eye to lengthen light to medium color on the lid and blend upwards and outwards. Make a small point of eyeliner on the inner corner as well to make the eyes appear longer.





-Deep Set eyes-


Smaller mobile lid compared to area below the brow. A light color needs to be used on the mobile lid to make it look larger and a deeper color on the socket line, blended upwards. ';Socket'; or ';Classic'; eye make up technique is best for this eye shape.

If you want to bring your eyes out...use black eye liner, and blue eyeshadows. If you just want a little color, but not necessarily show off your eyes, black or brown eyeliner and use light eyeshadows like brown or tan or gray...in that area anyway. .
Dude you and me are exactly like the same well i have the Cure So like you should have Black Liquid Eye Liner that is water proof Apply only to the top. Then go and get this oatmeal Eyeshadow stuff you can get your brush wet then touch the eyeshadow with it and it makes it more metallic i use a light brown on the first part of the eye then on the crease i put a darker brown and above that i put a light shimmery vanilla color all the way up to my Eyebrow. Make sure they are all a metallic look then get that new Mascara by covergirl in the pink tube it works really well.

The best shadow for brown eyes is a color that contrasts with brown - like a blue or plum. Eyeliner could be brown or black, depending on your mood. I wouldn't recommend brown eyeshadow for brown eyes.

well sorry to tell you but the only place i have seen red eyeshadow is at a place like sephora and mac, and i know that they are really expensive. And for eyeliner i would just go to a drugstore and get even the cheapest brand. (thats what i do) and it usually is just the same as somewhere expensive. i believe shiseido has red eye shadow. if not red, something similar.





i dont know what u want it for but it's not a practical shade. however it exists. if shiseido doesn't carry it, try nars. they also got crazy colors sometimes.





it shouldn't be that expensive .. no more than 20 bucks at the most. you're looking for a wierd color. cheap cheap places tend to stick to the most marketable and popular colors. red isn't one of em.





as for eyeliner, you won't find much beyond 5 or so variations.
Ok well, the thing is for variety and quality you often have to pay a big price, butttt theres always clearance. I would suggest sephora.com, check the clearance right when it goes on, because the prices are greatttt. Its like better than drugstore prices for high end makeup.


And you can always try walmart, they have a good variety, even kmart. But for red hmm...you may be able to find it there, but i really suggest just like googling red eyeshadow.
I've been into make up for years and have never seen a red shadow - however, aularale.com/7002 has a sassy red cheek color that some wear as shadow - you might try that. Also, the naturale shadow quad has a really dark (nearly black) shadow in it.

you can play with eye shadow the eye liner should be either dark brown or black and should stay thin and very close to the lash line....the purpose of eye liner is to make the lashes look longer a dark color will give them that appearance a light liner will be to bright and steal the spot light making your lashes look shorter or even absent even with black mascara.


Purple eye shadow brings out green eyes just remember that if your eyes are close set use a ligher color in the inner corners near your nose and a darker shade towards the outter corner......opposite if your eyes are wide set

Hard question, it depends on your colour skin, on what you麓re wearing,etc


If you麓re white white skin then dark ones will go better coz otherwise itll make u look like a ghost, more also inside a club with all those lights and stuff. By the contrary ,use a lighter one maybe. Or the colors can be combined depending on the color of your clothes.


For example, if you were green, use a dark green at the low eyelid, and then a bit of lighter green at the top and for a club, use a glowing shadow like wet effect and shines, You麓ll look filthy gorgeous. ;)

Just go to a department store and let them tell you. That's the easiest way to do it. Then go to a drugstore and buy a similar color. I have brown eyes and I tend to like brown but a jade green looked good too. Never do it too heavy. Understated is best. The new golds of the summer might work for you too but there are a lot of different shades.

If your eyes have a hint of green, Go for more brown shades. The darker the eye color, the darker the eyeshadow should be.


Hazel eyes should go for a more black, green eyeshadow.


Don't use anything gittery with green or brown eyes.





If your eyes are dark brown, use a dark dark grey/black, or go for a caramel color. Do Not wear green eyeshadow with darker brown eyes it will be too much.





And I wouldn't wear lipstick with any of these eyeshadows, just put some lipgloss on and you will look fine. Eyeshadow and lipstick in both bold colors will not look good at all.

I wouldn't consider it tacky. It is overdone. Eyeshadow should accentuate your eyes not overshadow your face and matching it to your outfit is overshadowing your face and is not complimenting your eyes.


Go to a really expensive make up counter and ask for a makeover (IT IS FREE). And, you'll have fun and learn great ideas to make you beautiful.

Whenever I see a person match their makeup to what they are wearing, unless it's like a costume, it makes me think they don't know how to put makeup on or they don't know what they are doing.

well it is kind of old because women these days should know how to play up the color. instead of taking the boring route why dont you play up the eyes and nails to make the colors funky and yet stylish and colorful.

I don't think matching your eye shadow with the color of your outfit is tacky, but unlike some people who match their shoes, socks, shirt, purse, and then the bracelets and rings and then earrings, that is way too much of the same color and very much so TACKY !

Those tend to look best with dark brown eyes. It's all about trial and error!
i would suggest lighter greens, maybe even blue grays..you want to stay away from the darker shades because your eyes are already dark..use the pale beige to highlight on the lower lid on the inside and the darker shade on the outer edges of the lower lid..i do know if you go shopping in a regular store..that carries alot of makeup they have the suggestions for all eye colors especially almay..but im sure they all have them..

I think a soft brown eyeshadow or pink could look nice on you, just make sure you don't use too much or else it'll look too obvious.


By the way, I'm not sure if it's the way the picture looks or something, but you look really pale, I suggest adding some pink blush on the apples of your cheeks to make you look healthier (the part of your face that becomes raised when you smile)What color of eye shadow should I wear?
Get a box with a bunch of different colors, Jane makes one that you can get at Walgreens and there is also one from Avon, both are about $7.99. There are also cheaper ones out there with just 2 or 3 colors. Then just play around and see what colors you like. That's pretty much what I do. Sometimes I make my own colors up too, by layering 2 or 3 colors on the eye. Your skin tone is similar to mine, and I'd say get colors that you think are too dark, cause they always come out really light on me. I usually use shades of blue cause I think they go well with brown eyes, but sometimes my eyes change to green so then I use earth tone shades. Also there are some brands (such as Almay i-color) that list your eye color on them, and then the shadow is prepackaged to look best with your eyes.
Brown hair and eyes go great with earthy shades: gold / browns / greens





If you wanted to do something more ';fun'; when you go out, lilacs and eggplants are great.





For an everyday look: try a champaigne-y gold with greens (like shimmery forest)

I have blue eyes, and i wear- rose pink /peach eye shadows- itwarms the cold blue. Or brown( in the 'crease' of the eyelid)- a soft smoky eye look, and brown looks fabulous with blue eyes. Soft grey- matches the steelyness of the blue, and its very sexy. But, remember, your eyes are a colour anyway, so you want to emphasive that colour, not distract from it, so steer clear of bright blue- doeant look good on anyone, especially not blue eyes as it makes them look less blue.

Hmm well it kind of depends whether the eyes are dark, or light.


I'd say a really natural, very light, and bronzy brownish would be perfect. It wouldn't mess up the look you could say. But make sure you add the right amount or else it could end up looking very scary like!
